about

The interview was conducted six months after I'd completed my MA Visual Art degree at the University College of Wales, Aberystwyth. The occasion provided me with an opportunity to take stock of my development as an artist and an art student up until that point. The exchange comprised a discussion about my background and upbringing in South Wales, the relationship between the artist and their community, the concept of religious or spiritual visual metaphor, the nature and significance of specific artworks that I'd made, art in relation to the culture of Welsh Nonconformity, my Christian convictions and journey, the possible future of Christian art, and the influences that had helped give shape to my work.
